Steve Heimbecker creates works that use sound as a material that is both tangible and evanescent. Via the 53 screens of NOTES, viewers enter a captivating visual and audio world, immersing themselves in this rhizome-like poem.

Steve Heimbecker

(Sherbrooke, Canada)

Steve Heimbecker studied at the Alberta College of Art and Design. His pieces have been distributed in Canada and worldwide. He recently showed his work at the Espace culturel Georges-Émile-Lapalme (Montreal, 2016), the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec (2016), at Agence TOPO (Montreal, 2016) and the Galerie du CAP (Brest, 2014). He has been awarded numerous prizes and grants for his visual, digital and sound works. His works are in several collections, including those of the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec, the Alberta Foundation for the Arts and the Foothills Hospital Foundation (Alberta).
