La P’tite Manif

As part of its cultural program, Manif d’art 9 — The Quebec City Biennial has designed special events for children. La P’tite Manif offers children and their families a range of activities in various parts of the city.

From February 15 to March 25, Manif d’art 9 presents the exhibitionVOYAGE DANS LE BLEU, des vagues aux étoiles, as well as creative workshops specially designed for our young audiences.

This small exhibition is an invitation to dream, to escape, to immerse oneself in the immensity of the sea and the sky. This installation is inspired by the grandeur of nature where a child’s imagination may travel freely.

Creative workshops for children

Imaginary Landscape

During the Biennial, the Manif d’art team invites children to imagine and create a fantastical and captivating landscape using a variety of artistic techniques. This creative workshop will lead to the creation of a surprising work of infinite shades of blue inspired by the themes and work of several artists in this ninth edition of the Biennial.

Workshop on tour in Quebec City libraries

Over here, night owls !

On March break, our team is inviting children to create an accordion-book inspired by the work of Swedish artist Britta Marakatt-Labba. Using a variety of artistic techniques, they will enjoy illustrating their own story, real or imagined, of a night spent under the stars.

Technical Exploration Workshops

During these creative workshops, artists will work with young and old alike as they explore the techniques that were used to give shape to the works presented in the Fragmented Landscapes exhibition, including collage, printmaking, and carving.

Exploration of molding techniques. This workshop is designed for small groups of participants aged between 10 and 12 (a parent may accompany them). They will learn to make clay molds and create small colourful sculptures.
