COURTESY OF THE ARTISTS

Given the multiplication of tales, realities and truths, Doyon/Demers enlists an interdisciplinary attitude for the realization of their projects, weaving together various disciplines-be they artistic or not-just as we combine interactions in the construction of a day. Formed in 1987 by Hélène Doyon and Jean-Pierre Demers, Doyon/Demers frequently presents work in progress. In the participative context of cultural democracy, their research bears on the relationship between art and life as seen through the lens of reliance/deliance, anthropological heightened reality, social aesthetic and heterotopy. Their work has been presented in North America, Europe, Brazil, Cuba and Japan. They recently published Manobras: viúvas de caça in Poiésis, no. 13, Conexão internacional—Universidade Federal Fluminense (Rio de Janeiro) and, with Harmattan (Paris), Désautorisation de l’esthétique in Foisy, S.; Thérien, C. and Trépanier, J. (dir.). L’expérience esthétique en question. Enjeux philosophiques et artistiques.
