Elle s\u2019est form\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019\u00c9cole du design et de l\u2019artisanat de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de G\u00f6teborg (1978) et \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 S\u00e1mi de Kautokeino et a re\u00e7u un doctorat honorifique de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 d\u2019Ume\u00e5. Elle fonde le S\u00e1mi Artist Group en 1978 et la S\u00e1mi Association of Artists en 1979.
