Marianne Nicolson<\/h3>\n

(Dzawada\u0331\u2019enux\u0331w, British Columbia)<\/p>\n

Of Scottish and Dzawada\u2019enuxw descent (British Columbia\u2019s Kwakwaka\u2019wakw community), Marianne Nicolson was born in 1969. She holds a bachelor\u2019s degree from the Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design (1996), a master\u2019s degree in visual arts from Concordia University (1999), and a PhD in linguistics, anthropology, and art history from the University of Victoria (2013). Her work has been exhibited at the Vancouver Art Gallery, the Indigenous Art Centre in Gatineau, the Taipei Fine Arts Museum, the Museum of Arts and Design in New York City, and the 17th Biennale of Sydney. She has completed public art projects for the Nanaimo Art Gallery and Vancouver International Airport.<\/p>\n
