Resulting from a long process of wood engraving, Christriane Baumgartner\u2019s monumental prints The Wave<\/em> and Phoenix<\/em> confront the elemental forces of nature.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/a>\u00a0Christiane Baumgartner, The Wave, <\/em>2017\u00a0\u00a0\u00a9 Idra Labrie<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n (Germany)<\/p>\n Christiane Baumgartner, a native of Leipzig, Germany, was born in 1967. Trained at the Academy of Fine Arts Leipzig, she completed her master\u2019s degree from the Royal College of Art in London in 1999. Her works have been viewed at EAST International in Norwich and at the Ikon Gallery in Birmingham. In\u00a02006 she took part in the Eye on Europe exhibition of the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. In\u00a02014 she received the Mario Avati award from France\u2019s Acad\u00e9mie des beaux-arts. Her works appear in over 30 public collections including those of the Albertina Museum in Vienna, Austria, the Museum of Modern Art in New York City, and the Biblioth\u00e8que nationale de France in Paris, France.<\/p>\n christiane-baumgartner.com<\/a><\/p>\nChristiane Baumgartner<\/h3>\n
